Good Catholics cannot be Communists nor belong to the Chinese government’s schismatic, puppet “church”, the CCPA. Thus the “underground Church” in China continues to face intense persecution. In a much misunderstood letter by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007 he appears to encourage members of the underground Catholic Church to attend CCPA “masses” and recognize their bishops and priests. When we pray at the end of the Rosary, we ask that we may be allowed to imitate what the Mysteries contain and obtain what they promise. We ask to imitate what is contained in the Joyful and Sorrowful Mysteries and we hope for what is promised by the Glorious Mysteries.
