The Impending Great Chastisement Revealed in
the Third Secret
Part II

In the first
installment of this series on the impending Great Chastisement, I have dwelt
mainly on the physical aspect of the chastisement: the role of Russia raising
up wars and bringing about the annihilation of nations. The annihilation of
half the world seems rather dire to say the least — it would be the
greatest catastrophe since the Flood. Yet, this is not the most frightful
aspect of the chastisement foretold in the Secret. What is most frightful is
the spiritual chastisement foretold in the Secret.
The second part of
the Secret already warns of persecution of the Church and of the Holy
Father. On July 13, 1917, Our Lady of Fatima warned:
If My requests
are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will
spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the
Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer,
and various nations will be annihilated.
"God", Our
Lady said, "is going to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war,
famine, persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father." The persecution
of the Church that will take place will be like none other that has ever taken
place in all the history of the world. That which is seemingly impossible will
take place, yet it is foretold in the unpublished part of the Third Secret and
in Sacred Scripture.
In his letter to
Professor Baumgartner, Cardinal Mario Luigi Ciappi revealed: "In the Third
Secret it is foretold, among other things, that the great apostasy in the
Church will begin at the top." This corresponds to what is revealed in the Book
of Lamentations: "The kings of the earth and all the inhabitants of the world,
would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should enter in by the
gates of Jerusalem." What is foretold is that the partisans of the devil
will occupy the Roman Curia under a Masonic antipope.
In 1998, the late
Father Malachi Martin stated on the Art Bell Show that, while he was secretary
to Cardinal Bea, he was given to read the Third Secret of Fatima in early
February 1960, which he described as written on a single sheet of paper. He
stated that Our Lady's words were very dry and specific and they foretold of a
future "pope" — an imposter who would usurp the See of Rome while being
completely under the control of the devil. Thus, the Third Secret of Fatima
reveals the "mystery of iniquity" (2 Thess. 2:7): The counterfeit "Catholic"
Church — the counter-church, the anti-church — the mystery of the
dragon, whose tail swept down a third of the "stars of Heaven", i.e. one third
of the Catholic hierarchy under the leadership of a heretical antipope.
This is what Pope
John Paul II has cryptically revealed concerning the Third Secret on May 13,
2000: "The message of Fatima is a call to conversion, alerting humanity to
have nothing to do with the ‘dragon’ whose ‘tail swept down a
third of the stars of Heaven, and cast them to the earth’ (Apoc.
12:4)."
When I spoke with
Father Malachi Martin about the heretical antipope of the apostasy in the Third
Secret, Father Malachi's response was, "Were it only that." The antipope and
his apostate collaborators will be (as Sister Lucy calls them) partisans of
the devil (os partidarios do demonio) "who work for evil and fear
nothing."1 It is these "partisans of the devil" who constitute the
"third of the stars of Heaven" swept down by the tail of the dragon.
These men who masquerade as ‘Catholic’ clergy are secret members of
the sect and are consecrated to the devil. They will gain control over the
Vatican apparatus and establish the ‘Catholic’ branch of a new
ecumenical world religion. Their counterfeit ‘church’ will be
Catholic in name only. It will form the ‘Catholic’ part of the
established and compulsory religion of the New World Order. True
Catholicism will be outlawed, and the remnant of faithful Catholics will be
subjected to the most ferocious persecution that there will have ever been in
the history of the world.
Catholics will not
be welcome in the Civilization of Love: the exclusivism of their dogmas
(such as extra ecclesiam nulla salus, i.e. "Outside the Church there is
no salvation") will cause them to be viewed as dangerous ‘fanatics’
and ‘terrorists’ — a mortal threat to the ecumenical unity and
‘peace’ of the New World Order. Thus, the real Catholic Church
will be treated as an outlaw organization, and a threat to world peace. The
Church's status will therefore be the same as it was during the Roman
persecutions, when the Church was viewed as a subversive and criminal
organization. There will be penal laws enacted to punish non-conformist
practitioners of ‘outmoded’ pre-conciliar forms of religion that
threaten world ‘peace’ (the neo-pagan ecumenical order of the
Civilization of Love) by their divisive attachment to dogmatic
exclusivism which (it is already alleged) leads to inquisitional
‘persecutions’ and religious wars and crusades.
An alternative
will be offered to Catholics so that they may avoid the unpleasantries of
persecution and martyrdom. The vast majority will be taken in by the deception
and will apostasize. Just as is the case today in China, they will be given
their Latin, their incense, their ‘Mass’, etc. — but on the
condition that they be in communion with the established church —
with what will by then have become apostate Rome. They will be compelled to be
subject to the imposter pope whose counterfeit church will be in communion with
the Great Ecumenical Church that will unite all religions.
Those who will
have the grace and fortitude to hold fast to their Catholic Faith will refuse
to abandon the true traditional Catholic religion. For this refusal they will
be regarded as incorrigible fanatics and obstinate schismatics. They will be
universally despised as the enemies of the Civilization of Love, and
they will be blamed for the failure of the New World Order to achieve
universal peace, love, unity and harmony. Their fate is depicted in the vision
of the Third Secret: the Pope, clergy and Catholic faithful will be
systematically hunted down and brutally exterminated for their refusal to
embrace the false religion of Ecumenism and Religious Liberty, both of which
have been forcefully and explicitly condemned by the Catholic Church in the
pre-conciliar pronouncements of such popes as Pius IX in the Syllabus,
Pius XI in Mortalium Animos and Gregory XVI in Mirari vos.
St. Methodius
(+358) wrote concerning this persecution, "A time will come when enemies of
Christ will boast: 'We have subjected the earth and all its inhabitants, and
the Christians cannot escape our hands.'"
According to St.
Caesarius of Arles (469-543), "there shall be a great carnage ... the altars
and temples shall be destroyed ... the pastors of the Church shall abandon
their pulpits and the Church Herself be despoiled of all temporalities."
Especially
significant is the prophecy of Bishop George Michael Wittman (+1833):
Woe is me! Sad
days are at hand for the Holy Church of Jesus Christ. The Passion of Jesus will
be renewed in the most dolorous manner in the Church and in Her Supreme Head.
In all parts of the world there will be wars and revolutions, and much blood
will be spread. Distress, disasters and poverty will everywhere be great, since
pestilential maladies, scarcity, and other misfortunes will follow one another.
Violent hands
will be laid on the Supreme Head of the Catholic Church: bishops and priests
will be persecuted, and schism will be provoked, and confusion reign amid
all classes. Times will come so preeminently bad, that it will seem as if the
enemies of Christ and His Holy Church, which He founded with His Blood, were
about to triumph over Her ... Secret societies will wreak great ruin, and
exercise a marvelous monetary power, and through that many will be blinded, and
infected with the most horrible errors: however, all this shall avail naught
... they cannot shake the rock whereon Christ has founded His Church:
‘Portae inferi non praevalebunt’.
Anna Katarina
Emmerick (1774-1824), a German Augustinian nun who bore the stigmata, also
foretold of the "false church of darkness":
"I saw a strange
church being built against every rule ... as well as the new heterodox
church of Rome. The Church is in great danger. They are now demanding
something from him (the pope). The Protestant doctrine and that of the
schismatic Greeks are to spread everywhere ... The Church is being so
cleverly undermined. I saw that many pastors allowed themselves to be
taken up with ideas that were dangerous to the Church. They were building a
great, strange, and extravagant Church. Everyone was to be
admitted in it in order to be united and have equal rights: Evangelicals,
Catholics, sects of every description. Such was to be the new
Church."
Sister Emmerick
summed up her description of the tribulation of the Church: "In those days,
Faith will fall very low, and it will be preserved in some places only, in a
few cottages and in a few families which God has protected from disasters and
wars."
The Catholic
Church, of course, will not be the actual cause of the failure of the
Civilization of Love. It will be perceived as such by the apostate and
infidel nations of the world because the Faith of the Church will constitute
the testimony against the godlessness of the New World Order.
Precisely because the apostates will be deprived of the light of Faith and the
gifts of the Holy Ghost, they will, in the blindness of their darkened
intellect, fail to grasp the truth taught by St. Augustine — that the
godless City of Man cannot consist of peace because it is faithless and
perverse in its rebellion against God, and therefore it calls the wrath of God
down upon itself.
There will be a
great apostasy. It is foretold in Holy Scripture. (2 Thess. 2:3) It is foretold
in many prophecies of the saints and apparitions of the Blessed Virgin, and it
is revealed in the Third Secret of Fatima. The apostasy is a great and integral
part of what St. Paul referred to as the ‘mystery of iniquity (that)
already worketh’. (2 Thess. 2:7) It is indeed a mystery because evil
itself is a mystery, but it is no mystery why the Vatican apparatus under
Cardinal Angelo Sodano does not want the Catholic faithful to know the content
of the Third Secret insofar as it relates to the apostasy. It is not because
they don't want people to "confuse religious prophecy with sensationalism" as
Cardinal Ratzinger mendaciously claimed in 1984. It is not for the good of the
Church and the salvation of souls, but it is to spare themselves from reproach,
and for the sake of their Modernist agenda and their own ecclesiastical careers
that they fiendishly work together to prevent the publication of the "words
which Our Lady confided as a secret to the three little shepherds in the Cova
da Iria."2 They are, after all, the ones who promote the
condemned teachings of Ecumenism and Religious Liberty in the name of Vatican
II, and would make these condemned errors the cornerstone of the new
religion in what Cardinal Benelli called the Conciliar Church, with
its New Evangelization and its Civilization of Love. The Third
Secret of Fatima is an indictment against them, and it drives a stake through
the heart of the counterfeit church.
It is, as I
mentioned earlier, a mystery how almost the whole Church could fall away into
apostasy. Such a thing could not take place in a Church where the faithful are
well schooled in traditional Christian Doctrine and in the practice of
Christian virtue. It will not be the New Evangelization but adherence to
Tradition that will preserve a remnant of Catholics in the Faith, as St.
Vincent of Lerins explains: "What shall the Catholic do ... if some new
contagion attempts to poison, no longer a small part of the Church, but the
whole Church at once, then his great concern will be to attach himself to
antiquity which can no longer be led astray by any lying novelty."
Unfortunately,
Catholics today are not being schooled in the Catholic Tradition of antiquity
or in the orthodoxy of the traditional catechism, but in the new
catechism of the 'living magisterium' and the ‘living tradition’
of the Conciliar Church of the New Evangelization. The
‘post-conciliar renewal’ that has been brought about by
aggiornamento, the implementation of the post-conciliar reforms, has
produced the ‘loss of Faith’ and the ‘diabolical
disorientation’ that the former Bishop of Fatima (Cosme do Amaral) and
Sister Lucy speak of as being central to the Third Secret of Fatima.
"The
disorientation is diabolical," wrote Sister Lucy [29-12-1969], "do not let
yourself be deceived." The disorientation is doctrinal: "in these times
of diabolical disorientation, let us not allow ourselves to be deceived
by false doctrines." [12-4-1970] It is a "cancer" in the Church
[29-5-1970] that affects "priests" and "consecrated souls" who have been "led
astray": "It is sorrowful," wrote Sister Lucy [16-9-1970], "to see such
disorientation, and in such persons who occupy positions of responsibility
... they are the blind leaders of the blind". Thus, it is the ones who
occupy the highest positions in the Roman Curia who have paved the way for the
Great Apostasy.
Father Joaquin
Alonso, who was the official archivist of Fatima for sixteen years, hit the
nail on the head when he stated: "It is therefore entirely probable that the
text (of the Third Secret) makes concrete references to the crisis of faith
within the Church and to the negligence of the pastors themselves," and
the "internal struggles in the very bosom of the Church and of grave
pastoral negligence of the upper hierarchy."
Just "a few weeks
before his death," writes Brother Michael of the Blessed Trinity, Father Alonso
"prudently gave the appearance of justifying Rome's silence (on the Third
Secret) while he wrote these remarkably clairvoyant lines":
An inopportune
revelation of the text would only have further exasperated the two tendencies
which continue to tear the Church apart: a traditionalism which would
believe itself to be assisted by the Fatima prophecies, and a progressivism
which would have lashed out against these apparitions, which in such a
scandalous manner would seem to put the brakes on the conciliar Church's
foreward progress ... Pope Paul VI judged it opportune and prudent to
delay the revelation of the text until better times. Pope John XXIII declared
that the text did not refer to his pontificate ... And the following popes did
not consider that the moment had come to lift the veil of mystery, in
circumstances where the Church has still not overcome the frightening impact of
twenty post-conciliar years, during which the crisis of the Faith has
installed itself at every level. (Emphasis mine)
Here is the
indictment against the Vatican apparatus in the Third Secret: It is the
negligence of those who hold the highest positions of authority who are
responsible for the diabolical disorientation in the Church, the result of
which is that "the crisis of the Faith has installed itself at every
level." It is literally true that the diabolical disorientation has
installed itself at every level in the Church, including the
highest level. The proof of this is that heresy is being taught at the
highest levels in Rome: in the name of the ‘living
magisterium’ and the ‘living tradition’ of the
‘Church’, the sense and understanding of defined dogma is being
changed.
Here is one of
many examples of heresy being taught in the guise of Catholic doctrine at the
highest level in the Church: It has always been taught in the basic Catholic
catechism of Christian Doctrine that the Old Testament ended with the
inauguration of the New Testament which superseded it. This is the
universal and perpetual doctrine of the Faith of the Catholic
Church. It is taught in a multitude of catechisms, manuals of Christian
doctrine and theological treatises approved by ecclesiastical and pontifical
authority and certified to be free of doctrinal error. It is also the explicit
Apostolic teaching in Sacred Scripture. St. Paul, writing specifically on the
topic of the relation of Old Testament to the New, quotes Jeremiah, "I will
perfect unto the house of Israel, and unto the house of Juda, a new
testament: not according to the testament which I made to their fathers
..." (Heb. 8:8-9) St. Paul then expounds under the infallible inspiration
of the Holy Ghost, "Now in saying anew, he hath made the former old. And
that which decayeth and groweth old, is near its end." (Heb. 8:13) End
[aphanismou] is meant in the sense of
‘destruction’. ("aphanismos; disappearance; destruction. Heb. Viii.
13")3
The doctrine of
the supersession of the Old Testament by the New is a defined article of the
Catholic Faith. In the solemn Profession of Faith of the Ecumenical Council of
Florence under Pope Eugenius IV, it is set forth:
The sacrosanct
Roman Church ... firmly believes, professes, and teaches that the matter
pertaining to the Old Testament, of the Mosaic law, which are divided into
ceremonies, sacred rites, sacrifices, and sacraments, because they were
established to signify something in the future, although they were suited to
the divine worship at that time, after our Lord's coming had been signified by
them, ceased, and the sacraments of the New Testament began; ... All,
therefore, who after that time observe circumcision and the Sabbath and the
other requirements of the law, it (the Roman Church) declares alien to the
Christian faith and not in the least fit to participate in eternal salvation,
unless someday they recover from these errors. (D.S. 1348)
The new doctrine
of the Conciliar Church directly opposes this dogma of the
Catholic Faith. On November 17, 1980, Pope John Paul II declared in a speech to
the Jewish community of Mainz, Germany, that the "Old Covenant" was
"never revoked by God." This is heresy. It is still
a heresy despite being the "official" doctrine of the Vatican (of the
Vatican but not of the Roman Catholic Church) as set forth in its 1985
Notes on the Correct Way to Present the Jews and Judaism in Preaching and
Catechesis of the Roman Catholic Church. The document states in paragraph
three that Judaism is a "present reality" and not a superseded "historical
reality". The document cites the authority of John Paul II and quotes the words
of his above noted speech, where John Paul speaks of "the people of God of the
Old Covenant which has never been revoked." John Vennari pointed out in
a recent article that, "Far from claiming that the Notes misrepresented
his words, John Paul spoke of his unqualified support of the document" on
October 28, 1985. The United States Bishops’ Conference similarly fell
into the same heresy in its document, God's Mercy Endures Forever,
Guidelines on the Presentation of Jews and Judaism in Catholic Preaching.
The document quotes the Pope's statement that the Old Covenant was "never
revoked" in order to uphold the heresy that Christ did not supersede the Old
Covenant with the establishment of the ‘New and Everlasting
Covenant’.4 This is just one of many examples of the
diabolical disorientation in the very highest level of the Church.
The Sacred
Doctrine of the Catholic Faith is in its very nature unchangeable. It is
clearly set forth by the First Vatican Council in Dei Filius (Session
II, Chap. IV) that:
For the doctrine
of the faith which God has revealed ... has been entrusted as a divine deposit
to the spouse of Christ, to be faithfully guarded and infallibly interpreted.
Hence, also, that understanding of its sacred dogmas must be perpetually
retained, which Holy Mother Church has once declared; and there must never be a
recession from that meaning under the specious name of a deeper
understanding.
Therefore ...
let the understanding, the knowledge, and wisdom of individuals as of all, as
one man as of the whole Church, grow and progress strongly with the passage of
ages and the centuries; but let it be solely in its own genus, namely in the
same dogma, with the same sense and the same understanding. (St. Vincent

Pope Gregory XVI
declared to all the bishops of the Catholic world in Mirari vos,
"nothing that has been regularly defined can bear diminution, or change, or
addition, and repels every alteration of sense, or even of words."
Whoever would change, alter, modify the sense or meaning of the defined
articles of Faith falls into heresy and incurs the anathema pronounced
by the First Vatican Council: "If anyone shall have said that it is possible
that to the dogmas declared by the Church a meaning must sometimes be
attributed according to the progress of science, different from that which
the Church has understood and understands: let him be anathema."
