The Impending Great
Chastisement
Revealed in the Third Secret of Fatima

The Message of
Fatima, and in particular the Third Secret reveals The Great Chastisement by
which God will punish the whole world for the crimes of sinful humanity if
people do not repent and stop offending God. On October 13, 1917 at Fatima, in
the moment before the great Miracle of the Sun, the Blessed Virgin said,
"People must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins. They must not
offend Our Lord any more for He is already too much offended."
Our Lady warned of
the gravest consequences if this warning is not heeded. The greatest
consequence and ultimate chastisement for unrepentant souls is the eternal
punishment of hell. It was in order to prevent the eternal damnation of souls
redeemed by the Blood of Our Divine Savior Jesus Christ that His Most Holy
Mother came to Fatima. Thus She explained in the apparition of July 13, 1917:
"You have seen
hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to
establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart. If what I say to
you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace."
The Blessed
Virgin’s request that people "amend their lives and ask pardon for their
sins" was not heeded. Our Lady of Fatima told Blessed Jacinta, "wars are
punishments for sins of the world.1" It was revealed to the holy
priest Père Lamy that World War One was a punishment specifically for
"blasphemy, the desecration of marriage and Sunday labor." In the apparition of
July 13, 1917, Our Lady foretold that, "The war is going to end; but if people
do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the reign of Pius
XI."
Unfortunately
people did not stop offending God, and the worse war, World War II broke out
during the reign of Pius XI.2
Our Lady revealed
to Sister Lucy the sign that would indicate the onset of the impending
chastisement:
"When you see a
night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you
by God that He is going to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war,
famine, persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father."
On the night of
January 25, 1938, Sister Lucy saw the ominous red glow Our Lady had foretold
would be the great sign that God was "going to punish the world by means of
war, famine and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father". On the
following day the strange phenomenon of the "illuminated night" was reported in
newspapers across Europe and North America.3 Sister Lucy understood
that the punishment of the world was about to begin, and several weeks later,
in March (1938), Hitler invaded Austria and annexed it to Germany, and this act
began the escalation of events which transformed the various aggressions of
Germany, Italy and Japan into World War II.
World War II could
have been prevented if the requests of Our Lady of Fatima had been heeded. She
had already promised, "If what I say to you is done, many souls will be
saved and there will be peace." Our Lady emphasized that the only way
that peace can be obtained is by obedience to Her requests when She asked
for the praying of the daily Rosary "in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary in
order to obtain peace for the world ... because only She can help
you."
It was precisely
to prevent the chastisement of the world, "by means of war, famine (and)
persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father" that Our Lady of Fatima
requested the consecration of Russia and the devotion of the First Saturdays.
Her exact words were: "To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the
consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of
Reparation on the First Saturdays." The promise connected with this request is:
"If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there
will be peace."
It is of the
utmost importance to bear in mind that World War II was only the beginning of
the threatened chastisements. If people do not repent and amend their lives
then more severe chastisements will follow. Our Lady had foretold in
particular the punishment of the second World War when She said, "The war is
going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will
break out during the reign of Pius XI." This particular chastisement has
already taken place.
The threatened
punishment of the world "by means of war, famine, persecutions of the Church
and of the Holy Father" is a far more general prophetic warning that has
only been partially fulfilled. Whether or not it will take place is
contingent on the fulfillment or non fulfillment of Our Lady’s requests.
The chastisement is fully revealed in the not yet published third part of the
Secret, while being only mentioned in a general manner in the second part. What
Our Lady said about it in the second part of the Secret is:
If My
requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will
be peace; if not, she will spread her errors
throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good
will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations
will be annihilated.
It was on June 13,
1929, in Tuy, Spain that the Blessed Virgin appeared to Sister Lucy and
fulfilled Her promise that She would "come to ask for the consecration of
Russia" to be performed by the Pope together with all the bishops of the
world. Our Lady’s words requesting the consecration were written down by
Sister Lucy: "The moment has come in which God asks of the Holy Father to
make, and to order that in union with him and at the same time, all the bishops
of the world make the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart
promising to save it by this means ..."4 This
solemn act of consecration of Russia to be performed by the Pope and
all the bishops of the world at the same time has never been
done. There has never been any act of consecration of Russia (or of the
world or of anything else for that matter) performed by the Pope and all the
bishops of the world at the same time. None of the acts of
consecration performed by Pius XII, Paul VI or John Paul II were performed by
all the bishops of the world at the same time. This is a plainly
established historical fact against which there can be no argument —
contra factum non est argumentum.5
It was God’s
will that the requested act of consecration be accomplished quickly: On January
21, 1935, Sister Lucy wrote: "About three years ago, Our Lord was very
displeased because His request had not been attended to and I made this fact
known to the bishop in a letter ... from an intimate conversation with Him, it
seems that He is ready to show mercy towards Russia as He promised five years
ago and which He wishes so much to save." On August 19, 1931, Our Lord Jesus
Christ appeared to Sister Lucy with the message, "Make it known to My
ministers, seeing that they follow the example of the King of France in
delaying the execution of My demand, they will also have to follow him into
misfortune."6
This is a very
stern warning spoken by Jesus Christ Himself, since the example to which He
refers was that of the disobedience of the French King who failed to consecrate
France to His Sacred Heart. That request was made by Our Lord Jesus Christ
Himself. It was revealed to St. Margaret Mary who communicated it to King Louis
XIV. Louis XIV and Louis XV did nothing, and finally, after being jailed, Louis
XVI tried to obey the command of God but could not make the required public and
solemn act, and in 1793, he was beheaded at the guillotine.
Our Lord has made
it unequivocally clear that a certain period of time has been given to the Pope
to perform the requested consecration of Russia, after which, if the
consecration will still not have been performed properly, then some of the
pastors of the Church will pay for this omission with their lives. This is
plainly depicted in the vision of the Third Secret published on June 26, 2000.
In that vision the Pope is killed by a group of soldiers, and other high
ranking prelates are killed as well.
The Vatican
apparatus has attempted to interpret the vision of ‘the bishop in
white’ as a prediction of the May 1981 assassination attempt on the life
of Pope John Paul II. The Fatima Crusader has amply demonstrated
that the interpretation of the vision published by Cardinal Ratzinger on June
26, 2000, is a fraudulent attempt to place the fulfillment of future events
foretold in the vision in the past. The motive for this fraudulent
interpretation is to promote the idea that the consecration of Russia has
already been done and therefore, as Archbishop Tarcisio Bertone says, the
"period of history marked by tragic human lust for power and evil" has been
brought "to an end." In other words, what Our Lady requested has already
been done so we need not concern ourselves about that any more.
Cardinal Sodano
stated on May 13, 2000 "the events to which the third part of the
‘secret’ of Fatima refers now seem part of the past..."
Sodano’s interpretation of the vision is like an attempt to fit a square
peg into a round hole: it crudely explains the prophecy of a future event, a
pope being killed by military personnel i.e. by a band of
soldiers, in terms of a past event, the failed assassination attempt
on the life of Pope John Paul II by a lone civilian gunman. Sodano’s
interpretation is plainly fraudulent: Cardinal Sodano changed the words of the
prophecy that refer to the killing of a pope, "on his knees at the foot of the
big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers," to, "he too falls to
the ground, apparently dead." A prophecy foretelling the future killing
of a pope is thus transformed by verbal trickery into a prediction of the
failed attempt on the life of Pope John Paul II in 1981.
In the booklet
entitled The Message of Fatima, Cardinal Ratzinger lays down his first
principle for interpreting the vision: "First of all we must affirm with
Cardinal Sodano: ... the events to which the third part of the secret of
Fatima refers now seem part of the past." The statement is a deliberate
deception: when Cardinal Ratzinger spoke of the ‘Third Secret’ in his
November 11, 1984 interview with Jesus magazine, he said, "the things
contained in this ‘Third Secret’ correspond to what has been
announced in Scripture, and has been said again and again in many other Marian
apparitions ..."
It is manifestly
evident that these words of the Cardinal did not refer to a failed
assassination attempt three years earlier that was neither announced in
Scripture nor foretold in many Marian apparitions — nor did they refer
specifically to the vision published in June 2000. On the contrary, they
referred to the future events foretold by the Blessed Virgin, in "the
letter" of January 1944 to Bishop da Silva, "in which Sister Lucy
wrote down the words which Our Lady confided as a secret to the three little
shepherds in the Cova da Iria."7 This is the ‘Third
Secret’ that Sister Lucy revealed on September 2, 1952 to the emissary of
Pope Pius XII, Father Schweigl, who explained that the ‘Third Secret’
is "the continuation of Our Lady’s words: In Portugal, the dogma of the
Faith will always be preserved etc."8 This is properly the
‘Third Secret’ of which Cardinal Ratzinger spoke saying, "the things
contained in this ‘Third Secret’ correspond to what has been
announced in Scripture, and has been said again and again in many other Marian
apparitions." This position has been confirmed by the nephew of Sister Lucy,
Father Jose dos Santos Valinho, who plainly stated his view on February 14,
2003 on the Italian TV program Enigma, that the third part of the
secret is closely connected to the second part. It concerns the Church: war,
persecution and the loss of faith. There will be a universal crisis in the
Church and in the whole world.9 Thus, it corresponds to the
Virgin’s words in the second part of the Secret: "The good will be
martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be
annihilated". In particular it corresponds to the July 13, 1917
revelation that God was "going to punish the world for its crimes, by means
of war, famine and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father".
Father Valinho also plainly maintains that the third part of the Secret
is the continuation of the second part of the Secret that ends with
the words, "in Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved,
etc."... His precise words: "the three dots (after the etc.) indicate
‘here is the third part that is not yet revealed’".
It is important
also to consider, that after a certain point, such as the outbreak of a
world war, the pastors of the Church may be physically unable to carry out
the consecration, as was the case with Louis XVI, who unsuccessfully attempted
to carry out the consecration of France after it was already too late to save
France from the revolution and the Reign of Terror. Judging by what Our Lord
foretold to Sister Lucy, it appears that the chastisement of the world
mentioned in the second part of the Secret and depicted in the vision of the
third part will take place before the consecration will have been accomplished.
What Our Lord said to Sister Lucy is this: "The Holy Father, pray much for the
Holy Father, he will do it but it will be late."
Our Lord Jesus
Christ, Himself, explained why this act of consecration is so necessary. In a
letter, dated May 18, 1936, Sister Lucy wrote: "About the other questions,
if it will be convenient to insist in order to obtain the consecration of
Russia ... I have spoken to Our Lord about the subject and not too long ago
I asked Him why He would not convert Russia without the Holy Father making
the consecration, (He replied) ‘Because I want My whole Church
to acknowledge that consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
so that it may extend its cult later on and put the devotion to this Immaculate
Heart beside the devotion to My Sacred Heart ... Nevertheless,
the Immaculate Heart of Mary will save Russia. It has been entrusted to
Her.’ "
The ultimate
purpose for the consecration of Russia is not the conversion of Russia or world
peace. The conversion of Russia and world peace are graces promised by God to
be obtained by means of that consecration, but the ultimate purpose of the
consecration is to save souls from hell by establishing the devotion to the
Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our Lady Herself said, "To save them, God wishes
to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart." On June 13,
1917, the Holy Virgin said that it is Jesus, Who wishes to establish this
devotion: "He wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart.
To whoever embraces this devotion, I promise salvation; those souls will
be cherished by God, as flowers placed by Me to adorn His Throne." It is for
the salvation of souls that Heaven requests the consecration of Russia. "The
salvation of souls ... is always the supreme law of the Church." (Can. 1752)
Those who oppose or hinder the consecration for whatever reason set themselves
in opposition to the supreme law of the Church and are therefore criminals in
the sight of God.
The consequences
of disobedience to Heaven’s requests will be incalculable and
catastrophic. Those who claim that Our Lady’s requests have been fulfilled
and the consecration of Russia has been done have lost touch with reality.
Navarro-Valls, the Vatican spokesman in September 2002, made mention of the
fact that the Catholic Church is presently persecuted in Russia. Our Lady of
Fatima warned that Russia would persecute the Church if Her requests were not
heeded. She said, "If My requests are heeded, Russia will be
converted, and there will be peace ..."
Two hundred and
fifty thousand American ground troops and one third of the British Air Force
have been sent to the Persian Gulf in preparation to wage war on Iraq, and the
U.S. military is making preparations for war with North Korea and Iran as well.
Nevertheless the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has assured us that
"the decision of His Holiness Pope John Paul II to make public" the vision of
the ‘bishop in white’, "brings to an end a period of history marked
by tragic human lust for power and evil".
Our Lady of Fatima
said to Sister Lucy in May 1952, "Make it known to the Holy Father that I am
always awaiting the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart. Without
the Consecration, Russia will not be able to convert, nor will the world have
peace."10
Our Lord said He
would not convert Russia without the Holy Father making the consecration (of
Russia), "Because I want My whole Church to acknowledge that consecration
as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary." There is
as yet no sign of that triumph, or that conversion, because Our Lady’s
requests have not been heeded, and therefore the world looks forward to the
Great Chastisement by which God "is going to punish the world for its
crimes, by means of war, famine, persecutions of the Church and of the Holy
Father."
PART II
The Great
Chastisement that is revealed in the Third Secret of Fatima is concisely set
forth in the one page letter of Sister Lucy to Bishop da Silva which
contains the ‘Third Secret’. The secret that Cardinal Ratzinger spoke
of in the Jesus interview is in that letter. When he said, "Yes,
I have read it", Ratzinger was referring to that letter, "in
which Sister Lucy wrote down the words which Our Lady confided as a secret
to the three little shepherds in the Cova da Iria."11
It is those words
of Our Lady that Cardinal Ratzinger was referring to when he said in the
Jesus interview that the Third Secret refers to "the dangers
threatening the faith and the life of the Christian, and therefore the
world", and he went on to say, "the things contained in this ‘Third
Secret’ correspond to what has been announced in Scripture, and
has been said again and again in many other Marian apparitions ..." It is
by examining what "has been said again and again in many other Marian
apparitions" that we will discover "the dangers threatening the faith
and the life of the Christian, and therefore the world" which have been
"announced in Scripture" and foretold in prophecy.
On October 13,
1973 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared in Akita, Japan to Sister Agnes Sasagawa
and revealed: "If men do not repent ... The Father will inflict a terrible
punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge,
such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will
wipe out a great part of humanity".
Blessed Anna Maria
Taigi (V 1837) wrote of the coming chastisement,
saying: "God will ordain two punishments: One, in the form of wars, revolutions
and other evils, will originate on earth; the other will be sent from Heaven.
There shall come over all the earth an intense darkness lasting three days and
three nights (Joel 2:31)12 ... the air will be laden with
pestilence, which will claim principally but not exclusively the enemies of
religion ..."
The first
punishment will be both physical and spiritual: wars and revolutions, etc. will
be the substance of the physical chastisement "various nations will be
annihilated"; and "persecutions of the Church and the Holy Father" will make up
the spiritual chastisement: "the good will be martyred, the Holy Father will
have much to suffer".
In 1945, only a
short time after the end of World War II, Pope Pius XII stated in his Christmas
message to the Cardinals: "The world is on the verge of a frightful abyss ...
Men must prepare themselves for suffering such as mankind has never seen."
There will be a great world war far more destructive than the first two world
wars. Sister Elena Aiello (V 1961) who is of
great renown for her prophecies was told by Our Lady: "My Heart is sad for so
many sufferings in an impending world in ruin ... The wrath of God is
near. Soon the world will be afflicted with great calamities, bloody
revolutions, frightful hurricanes and the overflowing of rivers and the seas
... the world will be overturned in a new and more terrible war. Arms
most deadly will destroy peoples and nations. The dictators of the earth,
specimens infernal, will demolish the churches and desecrate the Holy
Eucharist, and will destroy things most dear. In this impious war, much will
be destroyed of that which has been built by the hands of man ...
"Another
terrible war will come from the east to the west. Russia with her
secret armies will battle America; will overrun Europe. The river
Rhine will be overflowing with corpses and blood. Italy, also, will be harassed
by a great revolution, and the Pope will suffer terribly ...
"Russia will
march upon all the nations of Europe, particularly Italy, and will raise her
flag over the dome of St. Peter’s. Italy will be severely tried by a
great revolution and Rome will be purified for its many sins, especially those
of impurity ..." In the apparition of Our Lady of Good Success, which took
place on February 2, 1634, the Mother of God revealed to Mother Mary Anne of
Jesus Torres: "there will be a terrible war in which the blood of priests
and of religious will flow ... wickedness will seem triumphant." The same
was foretold by Sister Rose Asdente of Taggia (V
1847): "There shall be great confusion of people against people, and nations
against nations. The Russians," she explains, "shall come to make war
on Italy ... Priests and religious shall be butchered and the earth, especially
in Italy, shall be watered with their blood."
The prophecy
written on an English tombstone centuries ago foretells: "When pictures look
alive, with movements free, when ships like fishes swim beneath the sea, when
men, outstripping birds can soar the sky, then half the world deep drenched
in blood shall die." It would appear therefore, that the half-destroyed
city in the Fatima vision published on June 26, 2000 represents the destruction
of half the world: half the human race, more than three billion
(3,000,000,000) human beings will perish in the chastisement, as the tombstone
prophecy predicts. Sister Lucy elaborated this topic on December 26, 1957,
saying to Father Fuentes: "Tell them Father that many times the Most Holy
Virgin told my cousins Francisco and Jacinta, as well as myself, that many
nations will disappear from the face of the earth. She said that Russia
will be the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the whole
world if we do not beforehand obtain the conversion of that poor nation."
It appears that
the world today is truly "on the verge of a frightful abyss". The prophetic
revelations made to Sister Elena Aiello confirm the earlier prophecies of St.
John Bosco, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi and others that there will be a great war
waged against the Western nations by Russia, China and the Islamic nations.
Most Americans have no idea as to just how dangerous the geopolitical situation
is. They have swallowed the idea, hook, line and sinker that the United States
is the world’s only superpower, and therefore they believe the United
States can exert its will wherever it wishes.
There is in fact
only one military superpower in the world, and that is Russia.
"Russia," Donald McAlvany explains, "(the ‘former’ Soviet Union)
still has the largest military machine in the world; the largest nuclear
missile arsenal ... the largest arsenal of tanks, armored vehicles, nuclear
submarines, ICBM’s and SLBM’s (Submarine Launched Ballistic
Missiles), and warplanes in the world."13
It is still the
intention of Soviet Russia to conquer the entire world. In a speech to
the Lenin School for Political Warfare in Moscow in the 1930s, Dimitri
Manuilski declared, "War to the hilt between communism and capitalism is
inevitable. But today we are too weak to strike. Our day will come in 30 - 40
years. But first we must lull the capitalist nations to sleep with the greatest
overtures of peace and disarmament known throughout history. And then, when
their guard is dropped, we will smash them with our clenched fist."
Soviet
Russia has unswervingly adhered to this policy since then to the present. In
November 1987, Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev stated in a speech to the
Politburo: "Gentlemen, Comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about
glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These
are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal
change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our
purpose is to disarm the Americans and to let them fall asleep."
The Soviet
military leaders are disciples of Sun Tsu, the author of the Art of War,
who wrote in 500 B.C., "We advance through retreat." The retreat
was the dismantling of the inefficient and bureaucratic Stalinist state,
the Soviet Union, and restructuring it into the present Leninist
state, Soviet Russia. In the Winter 1993 Issue of The Fatima
Crusader, I reported:
Europe is moving
away from the post-war balance of power between the NATO-EEC bloc and the
Warsaw Pact-COMECON bloc. Gorbachev is promoting the dissolution of the blocs
and the re-ordering of Europe into one united unit. A united and neutral Europe
will be a conglomeration of small states dominated by the Soviet giant. With
its vast resources, population and arms, the Soviet Union will easily be the
master of all Europe. It does not surprise me to hear that the new slogan in
Russia is "to rule from Siberia to Iberia".14
The Soviets
have accomplished their program to bring about the dissolution of the blocs
and the re-ordering of Europe into one united unit with Russia’s
entry, with participant status, in the NATO alliance. This was declared quite
openly by Soviet president, Vladimir Putin, when he said in Rome on May
28, 2002, of NATO: "we shall call ourselves the ‘House of
Soviets’." Putin has achieved what Brezhnev promoted with
detente. Brezhnev promoted "detente" for the same purpose of
conquest announced in the 30’s by Manuilski. Leonid Brezhnev, speaking
confidentially to a group of influential Communist party members, was recorded
in 1972, saying, "Trust us comrades, for by 1985, as a consequence of what we
are now achieving with detente, we will have achieved most of our
objectives in Western Europe. We will have consolidated our position ... And
a decisive shift in the correlation of forces will be such that, come
1985, we will be able to exert our will wherever we need to ..."
It took longer
than Brezhnev had predicted for the plan to become a reality, but the
unswerving adherence of Soviet Russian leaders to the program announced
by Manuilski has placed them in the position to exert their will wherever
they wish. It is their intention to conquer the United States by means of a
joint Russian-Chinese military plan. In February 2002, Donald McAlvany
reported: "The plan for a joint military campaign against America, waged by
Russia and China was drawn up many years ago, and was told to me in 1999 by the
highest ranking defector of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian
General Staff, Col. Stanislav Lunev."15
"Regarding the
existence of a joint Russian-Chinese military plan," McAlvany continues, "Lunev
stated that on his last visit to Moscow, prior to his 1992 defection, the
Russian General Staff was still committed to fighting and winning a future
nuclear war against America. ‘The nuclear war plan is still
on,’ they told him. But there would be some changes. No longer would
Russian troops be responsible for a follow-up invasion of the lower 48 states
(U.S. mainland). Russian forces would be responsible for occupying
‘Alaska and parts of Canada.’ The Chinese would be given
responsibility for occupying the lower 48."
Soviet
Russia’s nuclear missile power and Red China’s immense manpower have
been joined into one clenched fist which forms the heart of the New
Axis, which could also be called the Moscow-Beijing Axis. Richard
Maybury coined the term New Axis in 1996. It is not limited to Russia
and China who signed the Chinese-Russian Friendship Treaty in July 2001 and
openly declared their joint strategic interests against the United States, but
it also includes many other nations that have entered into a secret alliance
against the United States and its NATO allies. Maybury explains in the February
2003 issue of the Early Warning Report that, "the group consists of at
least 12 members," among them Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Syria, Libya, Cuba, etc.
The U.S.
government is aware of the existence of the New Axis: On October 10,
2002, Deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz said, "The thing that came to
all of us on the Rumsfeld Commission, the greatest surprise, is to understand
just how much these bad actors (New Axis states) were helping one another, and
moreover how much help was coming from Russia and China."
The New
Axis has the United States and its allies severely outgunned and
out-manned. It is the plan of the New Axis to involve the United States
in multiple wars with the smaller Axis members: first in Afghanistan,
then Iraq, then possibly Iran and Korea and then possibly also with China over
Taiwan. They intend to overextend and deplete our armed forces, then they will
strike with a massive Blitzkrieg against the European nations and North
America. This will be only the beginning of The Great Chastisement.
"For nation
shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be
earthquakes in divers places, and famines. These things are the
beginning of sorrows." (Mark 13:8)

(2) Some, who would attempt to discredit the
Message of Fatima, have claimed that the war broke out with the invasion of
Poland on Sept. 1, 1939, during the reign of Pius XII, but this view is
incorrect. Actually, conflicts broke out between the Japanese Manchurian Army
and Chinese forces on July 7, 1937 at the Marco Polo Bridge near Peiping
(Beijing). The Japanese used this incident as a pretext to overrun northern
China, and then moved on to eastern and southern China. The war came to an end
only when the Japanese Manchurian Army (Kwantung Army) surrendered to Soviet
forces, who were only at war with Japan for 5 days, in August 1945 after the
dropping of the atomic bombs.
(3) In 1971, my Philosophy professor, Father
Robert Schubert, Ph.D., showed me his collection of newspaper clippings
reporting on the ‘unknown light’. In some cities the fire engines
were dispatched to the other end of the city in the belief that there was a
great conflagration, but it was only the strange light foretold by Our Lady.
Without any foundation some have gratuitously claimed that the ‘unknown
light’ was an Aurora Borealis. The claim is absurd on its face
since it did not resemble a manifestation of the Northern Lights in any manner.

(5) Those who claim that the consecration has
been done have produced only the crudest and most disingenuously simplistic
arguments that fly in the face of logic, along with the flimsiest of evidence
devoid of credibility, such as post cards and letters of very dubious
authenticity, and anecdotal reports based on rumors and hearsay that the Pope,
or Sister Lucy have alleged that "the consecration has been done." We have
amply demonstrated in many articles previously published in The
Fatima Crusader, available at www.fatima.org, that the consecration of
Russia has not yet been done. We have provided proof beyond legitimate dispute
that establishes the unassailable fact that Our Lady, as Pope John Paul
II publicly stated on March 25, 1984, is "still awaiting" the requested act of
consecration.
