What Does the Pope Think?

by Coralie Graham - Editor

One week after May 13, 1982, the Pope had returned from Fatima and was giving his talk to the weekly Wednesday audience of thousands of faithful. Referring to the act of consecration of the world that he had just performed the week before at Fatima — the Pope said that he had done all that was possible for him "in the concrete circumstances".

In speaking this way, the Pope acknowledged that he had not yet fulfilled Our Lady of Fatima's request — and he gave his reason — obviously it was because of certain "concrete circumstances".

The Pope Speaks Clearly in Public

If this was not clear enough, the Pope made it abundantly clear on March 25, 1984, not once but twice. We have reported on this at length in other issues of the Crusader (see The Fatima Crusader, Issue #15 page 3, The Fatima Crusader Issue #27 page 26 ff. and The Fatima Crusader #30 page 33).

Let it suffice here to recall that in the morning, around 12 noon of March 25, 1984, the Pope consecrated the world. He did this by publicly reading his prepared and prepublished act of consecration before 250,000 people in St. Peter's Square.

Toward the end of this prayer, after having consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary he then said to Our Lady of Fatima, before Whose image he was kneeling, "Enlighten especially the peoples for whom You Yourself are awaiting our consecration and confiding".

The Pope Publicly Repeats Himself

If this was not clear enough indication of the Pope's mind, Pope John Paul II, several hours after consecrating the world to the Immaculate Heart, again stated in the afternoon, this time inside St. Peter's at about 4:00 p.m., to Our Lady in front of Our Lady of Fatima's statue:

"We wished to choose this Sunday for the act of entrusting and consecration of the world, of the great human family of all peoples especially those who have a very great need of this consecration and entrustment, of those peoples for whom You, Yourself are awaiting our act of consecration".

Obviously the Pope cannot make it any plainer. On March 25, 1984, he two times stated that he knows he has not yet fulfilled Our Lady of Fatima's request for the Consecration of Russia — since he said "You Yourself (Our Lady of Fatima) are awaiting our act of Consecration".

To these very clear statements there are those blind souls, leading the blind, who would have you believe that Pope John Paul II thinks he has done the act of Consecration as requested by Our Lady of Fatima.

Against the Pope's public statements of May 19, 1982, and March 25, 1984, there are the rumors and alleged statements the Pope is said to have spoken in private to a Bishop or a Cardinal or a lay person. These private statements have subsequently been reported in small journals and newspapers, etc. Some prestigious names, even Cardinals, claim to be the recipient of such statements.

The Pope's Private Conversations Are Misquoted

Obviously there are only two possible conclusions to draw. Either the Pope is misleading in private conversations or he has been misquoted.

Some other commentators might be foolish enough to suggest there is another alternative, namely that the Pope actually intended to deceive his audience in public, and that we should rely on what some few people report he said in private.

Such a conclusion is very foolish, since even a dishonest man knows that if he lies he must not do it before too many witnesses because his later lie, contradicting his earlier statement, will easily be discovered.

Thus we can put reliance in the Pope's own public statements as being what he really thinks. So we can only conclude that either the people who report what the Pope says privately, which contradicts what he said publicly, are either mistaken themselves or are being misled by the Pope.

We prefer to believe that the people are mistaken instead of believing that the Pope deliberately misleads them. Thus we have to conclude that since the Pope has publicly and repeatedly, in public, made statements for the last nine years clearly indicating that he knows the Consecration of Russia has not been done — that that is exactly what he thinks.

What the Pope Thinks in 1991

That is what he thinks now is seen by the fact that as recently as May 13, 1991, in a prepared statement before 1,500,000 pilgrims gathered at Fatima, he pointed out that today "There exists the danger of replacing Marxism by another form of atheism which corrupts human liberty and tends to destroy human and Christian morality".

This was also reported in the English language edition of L'Osservatore Romano of May 20, 1991. Now it is clear that if the Pope thought he had fulfilled the request of Our Lady of Fatima, he would not be sounding the alarm that another form of atheism is possibly overtaking whole societies and countries like Marxism did.

The reason is simple. The Message of Fatima clearly states that when Our Lady's requests are granted, and in particular when Russia is consecrated by the Pope and the Bishops in the solemn public manner requested by Our Lady of Fatima, then Russia will be converted and a period of peace given to mankind.

But if Russia's conversion had taken place, and if the whole world were living in the Peace of the Gospel, then there would be no danger from other forms of atheism. It is obvious that the Pope knows Our Lady's requests have not been heeded yet and that Russia is not consecrated.

Russia's Errors Still Spreading

This shows the Pope knows that Our Lady's requests have not been fulfilled. She Herself said "if My requests are not granted Russia will spread her errors throughout the world".

Now the first error of Russia is atheism, and it does not matter to the followers of Satan what form of atheism is promoted. Since it suits Russian Communists to change their name but retain their goals of world domination for their Godless system, it also suits them to change the name of their atheism.

It is not that only Russian Communists are the only atheists, but all militant atheists are in agreement with each other, in promoting atheism. That is why Lenin and Trotsky were members of the French Freemasonic lodge "Ars et Travail" in Paris, and were supported by powerful atheistic international financiers of New York.

Thus it is that if atheism is on the rise, under whatever form, it is because the conversion of Russia has not taken place. Should this theme need developing, we shall explain it further in the next Crusader, as space does not permit further development in this issue.
