In this issue of The Fatima Crusader, we bring you some very important news of worldwide significance -- the agreement between the Vatican and Moscow in 1962. It is so striking that we could almost call this news sensational. It is not out of motives of sensationalism that we publish it but rather because it is important for us all to be informed so that we can better respond to the situation in the Church and the world so that we will respond more fervently than ever before to the Message of Fatima. We must realize that the Fatima events continue to unfold before our eyes. There is furthermore a more complete revelation of the words of Our Lady of Fatima. There is a danger which is very real today, and that is for Catholics to think that they know Fatima when they have some knowledge of the history and message but have not kept up with the unfolding of world events in the light of Fatima, and have not kept up with the unveiling of authentic information revealed to Sister Lucy.

      This agreement, as well as events leading up to it as analyzed elsewhere in this issue is most significant. It is also most significant, the bitter persecution of Pope John Paul II by Moscow on May 13, 1981 when the self-confessed killer hired by Moscow shot the Pope with poisoned bullets. (The two women who were shot by the same gun on May 13, 1981 also ended up with the same strange illness.) The Vatican/Moscow Agreement and the subsequent shooting of the Pope by Moscow further reinforce the words of Our Lady at Fatima, "Only I can help you." We must understand the words of Our Lady and Our Lord literally that peace will only come to the world when the Pope and the bishops obey to the letter the solemn request of God spoken by Our Lady of Fatima in the name of and in the presence of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit on June 12, 1929.

      This issue and the reports and analysis of certain events in the world and in the Church are published to the general public because as Vatican II states the Catholic people have a right to be informed about such events and as Pope John Paul II has stated in His teaching document Familiaris Consortio, Charity cannot be done to our neighbor except in the Truth. By making the truth known, the Catholic people as well as the other people in the world will better understand that Fatima is the ONLY HOPE we have for WORLD PEACE. And the sooner we all realize that, the sooner we will act upon this knowledge.

      Years ago, Our Lord stated, regarding this Act of Consecration by the Pope and the bishops "They have not chosen to heed My request . . . As the King of France, they will regret it and then will do it, but it will be late. Russia will already have spread her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church, the Holy Father will have much to suffer." Let us now, before the Pope has more to suffer, storm Heaven by our prayers to obtain the grace for all the bishops to know and fulfill this request of Our Lord. Let us particularly pray for this grace before the Most Blessed Sacrament - Solemnly Exposed as St. Peter Julian Eymard writes (see "Solemn Exposition and Eucharistic Adoration Is More Urgent Now Than Ever"). Let us pray the Rosary more fervently than ever and encourage everyone to pray the Rosary as Pope John Paul urges us (see "Pope John Paul II Exhorts All to Pray the Rosary"). Let us realize the grave importance of publicly and privately honoring Jesus and Mary and asking their help at this dangerous time of history. Let us reflect on the prophetic vision of St. John Bosco published in "Saint John Bosco's Famous Prophecy" and realize that we must respond now by greater Eucharistic and Marian piety. Let us furthermore help offset the present-day flood of bad literature which was foreseen by St. John Bosco, by spreading good leaflets, booklets and books and The Fatima Crusader and other good Catholic magazines. That is why we have obtained over 50,000 copies of 7 different books at low cost so that you could obtain numerous copies to spread around to your friends and neighbors. That is why we are making tapes at low cost to you so you can help spread the Gospel message of Fatima to very many people. Help us to deepen people's faith and their awareness of what God expects of them today. Help Our Lady save many souls and bring peace to the world.       People have sometimes asked us about the name of our magazine. The name "Fatima Crusader" was chosen because what is needed is a Crusade of Prayer of Penance and of Work. It is Pope Pius XI himself who proclaimed the need for a Crusade of Prayer to exorcise and overcome Communism which is "intrinsically perverse". Our Lady says that either we will heed Her Message at Fatima or we shall be overrun. So with our backs to the wall and still being heavily besieged by Militant Atheists of East and West we need a Crusade more than ever to protect our souls and to win back the world to Christ from Secularism and Communism. His Holiness Pope John Paul II also said in October 1983 that a Crusade of the Rosary is needed now to overcome corruption and sin in our society. We need CRUSADERS everywhere to pray alone and in groups in block Rosaries, on First Saturdays and every day, at homes and especially in our churches before the Most Blessed Sacrament. We need Crusaders to WORK at spreading The Fatima Crusader and other FATIMA CRUSADE MATERIALS around them. We need CRUSADERS to encourage others to join this CRUSADE by signing the FATIMA CRUSADE pledge which is available from The Fatima Crusader.

      With the arrival of two full-time volunteers, as well as the expanded circulation of our magazine, we find that we need larger office space if we are going to be able to do all the work that is needed to serve Our Lady's friends.
