Petition to
Your Catholic Bishop

For Nuclear Free World Peace

Your Excellency/Your Grace,

     Vatican Council II says "the laity are empowered — indeed sometimes obliged — to manifest their opinion on those things which pertain to the good of the Church" to their bishops. It is "with truth, courage and prudence and with reverence and charity" (see Constitution on the Church, paragraph 37) that we the undersigned appeal to you as our Pastor and as our Brother in Christ. Only the Pope and you our Bishops can help us and the World in this extreme need of ours.

     We realize the great danger due to the ever-increasing menace of nuclear destruction. We realize that war is both a consequence of and a punishment for sin, and therefore that only prayer, penance and "a true change of heart" can avert a nuclear chastisement of the contemporary world. We petition Your Excellency to call upon your flock to obey the demands of Our Lady of Fatima. For She has made it clear that only through the conversion of Russia will it be possible to obtain lasting peace, that this will become possible only when Russia has been collegially consecrated to Her Immaculate Heart by the Pope and all the bishops of the universal Church, and that God will permit the grace of this collegial consecration only "when a sufficient number are complying with the Message of Fatima".

     We therefore also beg Your Excellency to assure the Holy Father of your personal willingness to join with him in this collegial act of consecration.
