What You Must Do
As has been emphasized in the documents quoted in "Collegial Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart is Necessary for World Peace", we must
above all else live the message of Fatima in our lives. This is necessary
because unless enough people fulfill Our Lady of Fatima's message, we will not
obtain the grace - the special helps from God that are absolutely necessary -
for the bishops to make this solemn Act of Collegial Consecration.
We should also do all that is in our natural power to obtain
this Collegial Consecration of Russia. One way is to inform everyone about this
aspect of the Fatima message which is largely unknown or not known very clearly
and precisely. You can do this by distributing extra copies of this issue of
The Fatima Crusader. Another important way to help bring about the Collegial
Consecration is to petition the Pope and the bishops to do this.
The effort to obtain petitions from many people from all over
the world would have the effect of making more persons aware of the Collegial
Consecration of Russia and why it must be made. And God wants people to know
about the Collegial Act of Consecration of Russia.
The obtaining of petitions is important for this Act of
Collegial Consecration. As Father Joseph Pelletier, A.A., points out: "getting
the Bishops of the world to participate directly in such a public and solemn
act (the Collegial Consecration of Russia) presents a very great problem.
Knowledge by the Bishops that a large number of people in their respective
dioceses are solidly behind a project speaks powerfully to them and has an
influence on their decisions and actions. 'The voice of the people is the
voice of God' is an old axiom to which they are sensitive, as is Our Holy
Father himself. The Holy Spirit speaks to the Church through the laity as well
as through the hierarchy."
We can petition the Pope to command the bishops to make the
Collegial Act of Consecration. We can petition each bishop to ask the Pope to
make this Consecration. We can petition our Bishops' Conference to petition the
Pope. We can telephone or write or visit the bishops from our country who are
going to the Synod which is opening on September 29, 1983. The message of
Fatima is to be a subject of this year's Synod of Bishops where one tenth of
the world's bishops meet to discuss with the Pope current issues in the Church.
It is a great and providential opportunity for God to bring about the Collegial
Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, if we cooperate.

Most Holy Father,
We wish to thank you for all you have done so far to bring about
the Act of Collegial Consecration of Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart. At
Fatima on May 13, 1982, we realize you were unable to fulfill at that time the
requirement of Our Lady of Fatima for this collegial act. We note with
gratitude that Your Holiness put Fatima on the top of the ecclesial agenda by
stating in your homily at Fatima that "the evangelical call to repentance and
conversion" in the message of Our Lady of Fatima "is still more relevant than
it was 65 years ago ... still more urgent and is therefore to be the subject of
next year's Synod of Bishops." We note gratefully that the Synod starts on
September 29, 1983.
Therefore we wish to assure Your Holiness of our prayerful and
moral support of your efforts to bring about the Collegial Act of Consecration
of Russia to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart. We know that by the will of God you
as Pope have primacy of jurisdiction over the whole Church, that is, that you
have the right to command each and every bishop and priest and religious and
layperson in the Catholic Church directly and immediately and that this
authority not only pertains to matters of faith and morals but also in matters
that pertain to the discipline and government of the Church throughout the
whole world as Vatican Council I has solemnly defined. And knowing that the
errors of "intrinsically evil" Communism will continue to spread throughout the
world and among very many members (even among clergy) of the Catholic Church
until the Collegial Act of Consecration of Russia is made according to the
requests of Our Lady of Fatima, we the undersigned faithful show our full
support for you when you decide to command, and oblige in conscience with the
most serious of obligations possible, your brother bishops throughout the world
to Collegially Consecrate Russia to Our Lady's Immaculate Heart. We know that
Your Holiness is fully justified in engaging your supreme apostolic authority
in this matter. We hope and pray to Our Lady and we humbly beseech Your
Holiness to make take place soon this Collegial Act of Consecration. Otherwise,
Holy Father, we fear that Your Holiness will have more to suffer, that
Communism will overcome the world, and that the annihilation of various nations
by means of nuclear war will take place.

A suggested petition form to your bishop
(Wording
you can use to petition your Bishop.)
Dear Bishop,
At Fatima on May 13,1982, the Holy Father was not able to
fulfill the demand of Our Lady of Fatima for the Collegial Consecration of
Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart. We note with gratitude that he put Fatima at
the top of the ecclesial agenda by stating in his homily that 'the evangelical
call to repentance and conversion' in the message of Our Lady of Fatima 'is
still more relevant than it was 65 years ago ... still more urgent, and is
therefore to be the subject of next year's Synod of Bishops.'
Therefore realizing that both world peace and the restoration of
Catholic order in the Catholic Church require that the bishops of the world
together with the Pope consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we
the undersigned respectfully ask Your Excellency and the Bishops' Conference of
our country to assure the Holy Father of your continued support for the
Collegial Consecration of Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart.
